The CCUSAFs are instruments that formalize agricultural, forestry, livestock and soil recovery activities. Their application in the Amazon region makes it possible to move towards sustainable land management, guaranteeing forest conservation and the provision of essential ecosystem services for climate change mitigation.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In this delivery, 148 contracts were granted in the provinces of Utcubamba and Luya (in the districts of Lonya Grande, Camporredondo and Ocall\u00ed) and 83 contracts in the province of Rodr\u00edguez de Mendoza (in the districts of Omia, Chirimoto and Milpuc). In total, the contracts cover an area of 648.18 hectares, where producers will be able to implement agroforestry systems that integrate crop planting with native forest species, favoring forest regeneration and the sustainable use of natural resources.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The process is led by the Executive Directorate of Forest and Wildlife Management (DEGBFS) of the Regional Environmental Authority of the Regional Government of Amazonas, with the technical support of the National Forestry and Wildlife Service (SERFOR) and the support of the financial mechanism of the Joint Declaration of Intent (JI), which is led by the Ministry of Environment, executed by Profonanpe with funding from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) through the Norwegian International Climate and Forest Initiative (NICFI). <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Photo: Profonanpe<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The work of the DCI and CCUSAF in Amazonas<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The CCUSAFs are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at reducing deforestation and promoting sustainable production in Peru\u2019s Amazonian departments. The Amazon region falls within the scope of implementation of the Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) and contributes directly to the fulfillment of national climate change commitments.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The investment for the implementation of the CCUSAFs in Amazonas amounts to US$37,000, of which US$16,632 was executed during 2024 and US$20,368 is programmed for 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n With the delivery of new CCUSAFs in Amazonas, the country continues to move towards a forest management model that combines environmental sustainability, social inclusion and local capacity building, consolidating a productive and sustainable Amazon for future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n About the Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) – Phase 2<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Joint Declaration of Intent is a voluntary cooperation agreement signed by the governments of Peru, Norway and Germany in 2014 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. In the addendum signed for the period 2021-2025, the United Kingdom joined.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The financial mechanisms of the ICD are led by the Ministry of Environment and executed by Profonanpe as the financial mechanism, with the participation of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, through SERFOR; the Ministry of Culture; the regional governments of San Martin, Hu\u00e1nuco, Ucayali, Loreto, Amazonas and Madre de Dios; and the indigenous organizations AIDESEP, CONAP and ANECAP.
