The project \u201cFund for Innovative Adaptation in Vulnerable Ecosystems in Northern Peru – Living Watersheds\u201d<\/strong>, promoted by Profonanpe with financing from the Adaptation Fund, will deliver more than S\/750,000 to 11 local initiatives that promote sustainable water management and climate resilience in the Santa river basin.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The call, organized by the Mountain Institute<\/strong>, lead partner of the project, recognized local initiatives that will strengthen adaptation to climate change through productive diversification, bioremediation and irrigation systems that ensure water for families.<\/span><\/p>\n

The award ceremony was held in the Auditorium of the Olleros District Municipality in Huaraz, and was attended by more than 60 participants, including representatives of the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM)<\/strong>, Profonanpe, <\/strong>the Mountain Institute<\/strong> and local institutions, who highlighted the importance of promoting solutions with a community approach to address climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

With these local initiatives, the organizations become key actors to contribute to the adaptation goals of Peru\u2019s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).<\/span><\/p>\n

                                              The mission of the Cuencas Vivas<\/strong> project is to strengthen the resilience of communities and ecosystems in northern Peru to the effects of climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n
