The inauguration took place during the Second Avocado Festival, one of the most important crops in the Oxapampa district, whose yield depends largely on the pollination work carried out by insects such as bees and flies.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As part of the garden\u2019s implementation, a symbolic planting ceremony was held with the participation of authorities and representatives from the Oxapampa Agricultural Agency; the Huancabamba Chamber of Tourism, Agroindustry, Handicrafts, and the Environment; Foncodes; the Institute for Development and the Environment (IDMA); and the board of directors of the Avocado Festival. During a specialized talk, pollinator-friendly practices were discussed, such as native bee breeding, the creation of living fences, avoiding monocultures, and the responsible use of agrochemicals.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The project also had an educational stand that provided information to both producers and children.
